Roles We Hire For

From entry-level crew to skilled operators, drivers, and supervisors these are the positions Monster fills every season. No experience? We'll train you. Experienced? You'll move quickly.

Equipment Operator

Run zero-turn mowers, large-deck commercial machines, and specialty gear on bigger commercial sites. Higher pay rate, more autonomy, steady hours through the full landscape season.

A Day in the Life

Monster runs two distinct seasons. Crews look different summer to winter, but the rhythm is the same: prep, route, finish, debrief.

SUMMER · APRIL TO NOVEMBER

Landscape Crew Day

Show up to the yard early, load the truck, and roll out as a 23 person crew. You'll cover anywhere from a few large commercial sites to a long residential route mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, and seasonal cleanups. Crew leaders track route timing and quality. End of shift: return to the yard, wash and prep the truck for tomorrow.

Typical schedule: 5-day week with peak overtime. Early starts, daylight hours, weather-dependent.

WINTER · NOVEMBER TO APRIL

Snow Operations

Snow operations are storm-driven. When weather rolls in often overnight or pre-dawn crews and drivers head out to plow, blow, shovel, and salt every Monster property. Between storms you're on call, prepping equipment, and supporting the route teams. Intense work for the weeks that matter, with pay that reflects it.

Typical schedule: On-call, storm-driven. Long shifts during weather events. Quieter weeks in between.

Applicant FAQ

The questions we hear most often. Don't see yours? Ask in the form below.

Do I need experience to apply for a crew role?

No. We hire crew members with zero landscaping or snow experience all the time. What we look for is reliability, willingness to work outdoors year-round, and respect for the people on your crew. The skills are teachable we run hands-on training before you head out on a route.

What does the pay actually look like?

Pay varies by role, season, and experience. Entry-level crew starts at a competitive seasonal rate. Crew leaders, equipment operators, and snow drivers earn premium rates. We're transparent about exact pay in your phone screen no surprises before your first paycheck.

Do I need my own vehicle, tools, or uniform?

No tools, no uniform, no equipment of your own Monster provides all of it. Most crew members do need reliable transportation to the yard for early shifts. If transportation is a barrier, mention it in your application; we'll work through it.

Is this seasonal or year-round work?

Both. Many crew members work both seasons landscape April through November, then snow operations November through April. Year-round roles exist in dispatch, yard, mechanical, and supervisor tracks. Tell us your preference and we'll match you to the right role.

What licences do I need for a snow plow or salt truck role?

A valid Ontario G licence with a clean abstract is required for plow and salt truck drivers. We'll review your abstract during the phone screen. For specialty trucks or larger equipment, additional licences are an asset but not always required.

How fast does Monster respond to applications?

Most candidates hear from our hiring team within a few business days. We get especially busy in March (pre-summer) and October (pre-winter), so apply early if you want first pick of roles.

Can I apply if I'm a student or new to Canada?

Absolutely. We hire students for full summer seasons every year, and we welcome applicants new to Canada with a valid work permit. Crews speak multiple languages on most routes.
